Annual Sacramento Aloha Festival 2015

Post

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, our hula class (Nā Wāhine O ‘Olu Hula) along with Mrs. Macugay’s hula academy (Kūhai Hālau O Kanoheaokalikolaua’e) participated in the Annual Sacramento Aloha Festival at Cal Expo. For almost half the class, it was the first time being on a stage and dancing hula. They performed along with many other hula schools and Hawaiian bands on three different stages throughout the day.

Over 15,000 people attended the festival and enjoyed many hours of entertainment. Each year the hula class performs at many different events on and off campus. They perform at Open House, Winterfest, Pearl of the Orient, International Night and the Prelude to the Baccalaureate Mass. In the past, the class has also performed at St. Marys, St. Ignatius, Eskaton, and Sutter Cancer Center just to name a few. Our hula class is a credited P.E. class. This is just another example of what makes St. Francis so unique and different from any other high school. There are so many different areas of interest for our students to choose to participate in.
