Kathy Carlisle “Illuminated Memory”

On November 7, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. “Illuminated Memory” will be showcased at the KOH Library and Cultural Center. This is a collection of the work from Photography One and Two Students at St. Francis High School during the spring semester 2012.

Message from Tosha Elizabeth Tillotson:

When I first began teaching, I was tasked with teaching the Diary of Anne Frank to middle schoolers in a Catholic School. Not knowing how to provide the appropriate context for my students, I attended a workshop at UC Berkeley on How to Teach the Holocaust. It was the beginning of my relationship with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and with Holocaust educators around the world.

One such person who crossed my path was Kathy Carlisle. Kathy was an art teacher at St. Francis High School. She was dedicated to teaching and looked for ways to engage her students in all facets of learning. Kathy attended one of my workshops put on through the Central Valley Holocaust Educators’ Network. Over time, we became friends. I recommended for her to attend other Holocaust education programs and she was awarded with the Memorial Library Fellowship. She was an tremendous individual and educator and is greatly missed.

Exhibit – October 30, 2016 – November 29, 2016
