A proud graduate of St. Francis High School’s Class of 1991, Amalia Griego, has built a dynamic career that spans healthcare and nonprofit leadership. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Sacramento State before pursuing her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Michigan. For nearly two decades, she practiced dentistry, providing care and building strong patient relationships.  Seeking to make a broader impact, she transitioned to the nonprofit sector, focusing on philanthropy and fundraising. Her first role in this space was as the Director of Philanthropy at Wind Youth Services, where she helped support young people experiencing homelessness. She later served as a Major Gifts Officer at the Crocker Art Museum, strengthening community engagement through the arts. For the past two and a half years, she has been the Managing Director of Development at City Year Sacramento, leading fundraising efforts to support AmeriCorps members who serve students in under-resourced schools.  Beyond her professional life, she is an avid reader and enjoys spending time outdoors, whether hiking, traveling, or playing pickleball. She is also a proud parent—her son is a graduate of Jesuit High School. With a career that has spanned multiple industries, Amalia is passionate about lifelong learning, service, and the power of relationships to create meaningful change.
