St. Francis Day Celebration

Schedule

The Feast of St. Francis is October 4 and we will be honoring our patron saint with a special day of prayer and celebration. The day (a mandatory day of school) starts (9:15am) with homeroom leading into Mass in the gym, followed by a festival in Serra Court, and finally, a closing ceremony featuring some of SF’s talented students singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments. The day ends at 1:00pm. All of this highlights our theme of Seeking Joy in Purpose and Community.

Students should come dressed honoring an occupation (farmer, construction worker, health care worker, chef, etc.) It is a St. Francis tradition to take up a collection in homeroom for a local charity and this year’s charity is “Jonnies’ Playground.” This is a special all-encompassing playground that allows kids of all abilities to play together and make friends. Our SF Dads’ Club and student volunteers have been instrumental in making this dream playground come true.

The coffee bar in Serra Court Cafe will be open with limited service serving grab-and-go breakfasts and lunch items. Students should plan their meals for the day with this in mind.

Finally, parent volunteers are needed for the set-up on Tuesday after school and on Wednesday. Please check your MVP account for details and to sign up.
