August/September ACT and SAT Exams

Due to current health guidelines, there are no ACT or SAT examinations scheduled to take place at St. Francis during the month of August or September. We will be re-evaluating future dates based on guidance from the Sacramento County Health Department. If you’ve scheduled an examination for your daughter, please contact the ACTs or College Board to reschedule.

Senior College Workshops

On Monday, August 3rd, the Guidance College Team began hosting daily college workshops from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. for the Class of 2021.  These video conference college application workshops will run Monday through Thursday for the entire month of August.  Senior students can attend any or all of the workshops. CIF AND SAC-JOAQUIN Section Announce Modified Sport Season Calendars in Response to Pandemic
For Immediate Release

SACRAMENTO, CALIF.- The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the Sac-Joaquin Section have announced modified dates for competitive sports seasons in response to public health restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  St. Francis Athletics will begin the work to revise the various schedules for our respective sport programs accordingly.  Details related to tryout dates, schedules, potential off-season workout dates, etc., will be released over the coming weeks.

Summer Bookstore Open May 14 – Fall Bookstore Open July 2

The summer bookstore will open on May 14, 2021.  Students may purchase books from any site, but the ISBN must match the one posted on the SFHS website. 

The fall bookstore will open on July 2, 2021.  Free shipping begins the week of July 7 – July 24, for orders over $100.

Junior Family Mass Message

Due to the Coronavirus circumstances, we are not able to gather as a community to celebrate our Simbas and  to commission them into their leadership role on campus. In order to gather as a community on campus, we are postponing the Family Mass and Commissioning Ceremony until the start of the school year. We will confirm with you a date when one becomes available. Until then, know that we love you dearly, miss you even more, and can’t wait to celebrate this moment with you.

Nursing, Pre-Med, and Pre-Health Webinar Opportunity for SFHS Sophomores and Juniors

Textbook Buy Backs

BNC (formally MBS) will still be buying back textbooks from our students. Students can sell their books through the BNC website, and use their free shipping label to return their books.  You can view step-by-step instructions on how to sell back books on the SFHS Website.

SFHS Christmas Tree Lane Models Wanted

Applications for this year’s Christmas Tree Lane are due August 28 and 29, during lunch in upper Serra Court. Completed apps will be numbered in the order received. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Applications may be found on the Jesuit website or via the link below.

Gerwigs’ latest film coming to theaters soon!

Coming soon to a theater near you: SFHS Alumna, Greta Gerwig ‘02, brings Little Women to life on the big screen as only she can do! Another well directed and cast film, Gerwig has Saoirse Ronan playing the heroine Jo March; Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, and Eliza Scanlen playing the sisters; Laura Dern is Marmee, and Meryl Streep plays their forbidding, rich Aunt March. Timothée Chalamet (another Lady Bird carryover) plays heartthrob Laurie, the literal boy next door who develops an intense friendship with Jo.

Returned to California to perform the lead in the musical ONCE

After almost a decade of performing around the world, SF Players alumna Olivia Nice (‘10) is returning to California to perform the lead in the musical ONCE, playing at the 42nd St Moon Gateway Theater from June 12-June 30th, 2019. She has been playing this role around the nation for over a year now, picking up a BroadwayWorld nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Musical and a win for Best Female Performance of the Year from Ashland, OR Sneak Preview Magazine.
