This Week in the Garden
from the Garden of Eden Club
This week members of the Garden of Eden Club planted a native plant garden off Serra Court to honor St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the Church’s first indigenous saint. The garden features California natives such as California lilac (ceanothus), Manzanita and of course the California Golden Poppy. The garden will also provide food and habitat for local wildlife such as the migratory Gold Finch and the Western Fence Lizard that make their home at St. Francis. The funding for the garden was provided by a generous grant from the Sacramento Native Plant Society.
Thank you to Leyla Logan Camara, Arabella Henry, Angelyn Gonzales, Isabelle Leon, Seyvene Kahwaji, and Sophia Harmon for their hard work!

Tutor Lab Tip of the Week: March 17
Do you struggle with memorizing topics and facts in a class? Well the tutor lab has the solution for you, the Feynman Technique! This is a process where you read about a selected topic, recite all of the information that you can remember to anyone or anything, and fill in the gaps of your knowledge by reading the info again! This technique is extremely useful and can help with your memorization issues!
This Week in the Garden
from the Garden of Eden Club
Spring is in full swing, and there’s plenty to do in the garden! As we navigate changing temperatures and seasonal rain, it’s the perfect time to get ahead on essential tasks like preventing powdery mildew on grapevines, staying on top of weeds, and feeding citrus, roses, and camellias. While nurseries are starting to stock tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants, patience is key—wait until soil temperatures reach around 65°F before planting warm-weather crops. Happy gardening!
