Big Honor for Senior Sophie Zepf, who earned regional Silver Key awards for her two written works, ‘The Story’ and ‘Today is the Day’. Sophie also received a regional Gold Key Award for her sculpture ‘Old Fiddler’.

More than 300,000 works were submitted to the The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards nationwide and only the top 40% received some level of recognition. Kudos also to her English instructor, Jennifer Borasi, who continues to ignite the creative passion in all of her students!

SF Takes Part in Empty Bowls 2015

We are delighted to play a role in the upcoming River City Food Bank’s Empty Bowls fundraiser on March 10th & 11th. Our sculpture classes have donated many wonderful bowls and our lovely and talented Show Choir will be performing during the Luncheon on the 11th. Each ticket includes a hand-crafted bowl as a reminder of hunger in our community. Find out more and support Empty Bowls Here:

You won’t want to miss this event – Empty Bowls is RCFB’s signature event that raises funds, friends and awareness for our ongoing fight against hunger in Sacramento County. Last year, Empty Bowls was attended by over 1,300 people and raised more than $100,000, 96% of which directly funds our food programs.

SFHS at Lanaea High School Theatre Festival
Saturday, February 7, 2015

The SF Players took to the stage today from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM at the Lenaea High School Theatre Festival. They performed monologues, musical theatre songs and duet scenes. A standing room only crowd cheered the performance of their original play,”The Poe Project”.  An amazing experience to see how their play was received by their peers from other school! Here are some pics as the Players get ready for the performance and Ani Carrera sings for the musical theatre judges.
