Rising 1st - 9th Grade Girls

We’re back!  SFHS sports camps will be offered for the Summer of ‘22

Join St. Francis for our Summer Sports camps open to rising 1st through 9th grade girls taught by our wonderful coaches and student players. Coaches will work with campers on the fundamentals for beginners as well as developing skills for the more experienced athlete.

Basketball Camp

Basketball Summer Camp is staffed by Head Varsity Coach David Carmichael and coaching staff. Current varsity players provide assistance. For girls entering 4th through 9th grades, the camp will teach fundamental skills including dribbling, passing, rebounding, and shooting. The week ends with players divided into teams and playing competitive games.

June 13 – 17th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (For rising 4th – 9th graders)

Required Items: Basketball shoes required, knee pads recommended.

Soccer Camp

Soccer Camp is led by Maryclaire Robinson, St. Francis Varsity head coach, alumna, and former UC Davis women’s soccer coach, and Assistant Cinthia Rios. The program provides the opportunity for student-athletes to become familiar with the St. Francis soccer program and to train in individual soccer techniques on the ball as well as striking and tactical awareness. All elements of the soccer game are emphasized, including warm-up, trapping, dribbling, passing, shooting, small-sided games and stretching to end the session. Both individual fundamentals and team strategies will be accentuated.

Troubie Soccer Camp: June 13 – 17,  9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.  (For rising 1st – 6th graders) 

Elite Soccer Camp: June 27 – July 1, 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. (For rising 7th – 9th graders) 

Required Items: Cleats, shin guards, proper soccer attire.

Softball Camp

St. Francis softball coaching staff will support student athletes in developing the proper skills necessary to compete in softball on a competitive level: fielding infield and outfield, hitting, throwing, and a variety of bunting techniques. The camp will also include pitching and catching techniques proper base running.   

June 21 – 24th, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (For rising 4th – 9th graders)*

Required Items: Cleats, glove, and personal bats. Dress in proper attire to slide on the dirt infield.

Lacrosse Camp

Julie Southard and Kayla Galet will help campers explore the sport of Women’s Lacrosse. Skill development, stick work and team bonding will all be emphasized in this beginner level, week long camp.  This is a fun, low stress environment to learn a new sport. Wear athletic clothes and cleats, and bring your water bottle. If you have your own stick and goggles bring those too but they are not mandatory. 

June 21 – 24th, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (For rising 4th – 9th graders)*

Required Items: Cleats, shin-guards, mouth-guard
Recommended Items: Lacrosse Stick, goggles

Volleyball Camp

St. Francis’ volleyball coaches Taryn Campbell and Bill Hanrahan, host this beginning level camp.  Players will learn basic skills required for volleyball: how to pass, set, hit, serve, and utilize basic defensive moves. At the end of the week, student athletes will be divided according to skill level for a culminating tournament. Every participant will take home a full-size SF logo volleyball

Camp 1: June 27 – July 1, 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (For rising 4th – 6th graders)
Camp 2: June 27 – July 1, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (For rising 7th – 9th graders)

Required Items: Knee pads, athletic footwear.
