Swimming and Diving Finishes Second at League Meet

CARMICHAEL, Calif. – The St. Francis varsity swimming and diving team finished second overall at the Delta League Championships on Friday at Jesuit High School.

“We did not go quiet,” said Head Coach Richard Levin. “We knew we had a challenge in front of us. They did not quit. Davis is a great team and our hats our off to them. We just needed a little more to get it done. We could taste it but we came up a little short this time.”

Senior Tiffany Wong Wins Delta League Diving as SF Sweeps Top Three

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Tiffany Wong edged sophomore teammate Molly Wilson by five points to win the Delta League diving title for the second consecutive season at Casa Roble High School.

“Tiffany and Molly have been great competition for each other all season and Molly has been tough to beat,” said Head Coach Dede Crayne. “It was very close today.”

Wong, who will dive at UC San Diego this fall, scored 418.30 for her 11-dive schedule.

Divers Prep for League Championships with Sheldon Sweep

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Molly Wilson and Tiffany Wong were the top divers in a meet against Sheldon on Wednesday. Wilson scored 276.60 to finish first and Wong was second with a score of 273.45. Julia Endicott was third (225.40) and Katrina Yo was fourth with a 171.10.

St. Francis will compete in the Jesuit Invitational at St. Mary’s on Saturday.

Diving Sweeps Franklin

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Senior Tiffany Wong led a St. Francis sweep of the diving meet against Franklin on Wednesday. Wong posted a score of 246.70 to edge sophomore teammate Molly Wilson. Julia Endicott was third with a score of 183.60.

St. Francis had the top three divers in the meet and five of the top sox. Junior Katarina Yo totaled a 145.75 to finish fifth and sophomore Camille Lutes was sixth with a 134.10.

Diving Opens Season Against Pleasant Grove

DAVIS, Calif. – The St. Francis diving team won its opening diving meet against Pleasant Grove. Molly Wilson was the top finisher for the Troubadours with a score of 223.90 with senior Tiffany Wong is second at 213.50. Cami Lutes was third and Izzie Linne finished fourth.

St. Francis dives against Davis on Wednesday, March 9.

Spring Impact Testing

Assistant AD Kelly Ketcham conducts inPACT testing on all freshmen, juniors and new players in the sports of volleyball, soccer, softball, diving, track and field (pole vault) and lacrosse. The ImPACT test is open to all students. Contact Kelly for more information.

Spring Conditioning/Tryout Information

Spring sports start on Feb. 8 for the sports of lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving and track and field. Please have your daughter’s current physical on file with the athletic department to insure her participation in the first day of tryouts. The physical must be on the form on the school website. You can find it here.

DIVING: Practice starts on February 15: 3:00-4:30 p.m. at Capital Diving. Workouts the rest of the season (2/22-4/27) will be M/W/F from 3:30-5:00 p.m.

Diver Tiffany Wong to Compete for UC San Diego

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis senior diver Tiffany Wong will join the UC San Diego diving team next fall.

“I really loved the city of San Diego,” said Wong. “I loved how together the team was and it reminded me of St. Francis and my club team. It really felt like a family. I like that togetherness.”

Wong is the second Troubadour to join the Triton program, joining Patty Sullivan ’14 on the roster.

The dive and swim team is super nice and friendly,” said Wong.

  • Freshman Julia Coss competed at the first CIF State Swimming and Diving Championships held at Clovis West High School and finished 22nd overall.

St. Francis Represented at First Swimming & Diving Championships

CLOVIS, Calif. – Freshman diver Julia Coss and junior swimmer Emily Peters will represent St. Francis in the first CIF Swimming and Diving State Championships that begin on Friday, May 22. Clovis West High School is hosting the event.

Coss, who is one of four freshmen on the start list, will dive in the morning starting at 8:30 a.m., while Peters will swim in the 50-meter freestyle event. The prelims begin at 2:30 p.m.

Freshman Julia Coss Advances to First CIF State Diving Meet

MODESTO, Calif. – Freshman Julia Coss finished third and earned a berth in the first CIF State Diving Championships to be held May 22 at Clovis West High School. She was one of five divers who competed at the Sac-Joaquin Section finals Saturday at Buchanan High School, the most of any school in the section.

“I am really excited, happy and honored to be one of the top four in the section,” said Coss. “It feels really good. I am really happy with my performance. I am thankful for the experience and I am so proud of how well my team did. We all had a great season.”

Diving Advances Five to Section Finals

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis diving team qualified five section finalists into Saturday’s meet at Johansen High School in Modesto.

Sophomore Kat Yo and freshman Molly Wilson made the JV finals at 8:30 a.m. and senior Patty Sullivan, junior Tiffany Wong and freshman Julia Coss made varsity finals that start at 12:30 p.m.

Senior Allison Autrey finished seventh last season and Sullivan was ninth at the Sac-Joaquin Section Diving Finals.

Junior Tiffany Wong Wins Delta League Title

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Tiffany Wong won the Delta League diving competition with a personal-best winning total of 468.00 for her 11-dive total as St. Francis swept the top four spots in the varsity competition. She earned All-Delta League for her performance.

“It feels pretty cool,” said Wong about her title. “I dove really well and I really liked the boards. I have been trying to practice harder.”

Wong said her best dive is a back one-and-half, one-and-half. It is her highest degree of difficulty dive and she recorded a 7.5 bingo (all three judges) on the dive.

Sullivan to Dive for UCSD Tritons

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – St. Francis senior diver Patty Sullivan has always known how to flip. As a former gymnast, she made the transition to diving during her freshmen season. On Wednesday, she will sign with UC San Diego to continue her career on the boards.

“I am really excited,” said Sullivan. “I always wanted to do a sport in college because I like the team aspect. Being able to dive in college is a really big thing for me.”

After a nine-year career in gymnastics, Sullivan continues to get better with each season.

Divers Posts Two Top Scores against Franklin, Sheldon

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Patty Sullivan and freshman Molly Wilson were the top two divers on Wednesday in a meet held at Franklin High School against the Wildcats and the Sheldon Huskies. Sullivan posted a 218.35 to record the top score, while Wilson was second with a 183.35. Sophomore Kat Yo placed fourth (149.20), senior Jordan Schrock was fifth, freshman Camille Lutes finished eighth and freshman Quinn Ruggles was 11th overall.

The Troubadours compete against on Wednesday April 15 against Monterey Trail before competing in the Jesuit Invitational on April 18.
