Press Release: St. Francis Catholic High School Announces Progress of New Aquatic Complex Development

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – September 29, 2022 - St. Francis Catholic High School is excited to share that plans for our new aquatic complex are moving forward.  The application for the Project was submitted to the City of Sacramento last week, Thursday, September 22, 2022.

St. Francis Catholic High School Proudly Announces its New Assistant Principal

St. Francis Catholic High School is proud to announce Heather Moloney as its new Assistant Principal. Moloney, who is an alum of St. Francis Catholic High School, has been serving as the social studies department chair for the past eight years.  She will assume her new role effective Monday, August 1.  

“The work St. Francis does in providing an all-girls Catholic education is so important.  I want to ensure the traditions, high standards, support, and inclusivity of the school continue for many generations to come,” said Moloney.

Robotics Team Places 4th in the World at the 20th MATE ROV Competition

St. Francis Catholic High School is proud to announce our robotics team placed fourth in the world at the 20th annual Marine Advanced Technology Education Remotely Operated Vehicle World Championships (MATE ROV) in Long Beach, Calif. earlier this summer. Along with their world title, the Geneseas placed first in Marketing Display and earned the Oceaneering Health, Safety and Environmental Award.

Athletic News – 5/20/22

Softball

The St. Francis school year may be over, but the athletics season continues for several of our top student-athletes. The softball team earned a No. 2 seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs and won its first-round game against Cordova on Tuesday. The Troubies improved to 24-3 overall with that victory, extending one of the finest years in school history. Meanwhile, the track & field season marches on with the SJS Masters Meet in Davis this weekend. The top finishers in each event will earn trips to the CIF state championships next week.

Softball Team

A special nod goes out to SFHS head swimming coach, Brian Nabeta, and his Troubie swimmers, who scored an impressive victory at Carondelet on Wednesday. Not only did it mark a rare opportunity for our athletes to compete outside the Sacramento area, but it was a reunion between Nabeta and a former collegiate teammate, Cougar head coach, Roque Santos.

Troubies prevail over Folsom in 2-1 pitching duel

The St. Francis softball teams finally return home after a three-game road stretch, hosting Laguna Creek on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The Troubies are having one of their best years in recent history, with senior, Hope Jenkins, already having thrown three no-hitters, and the JV squad winning six straight to start the season. Softball also hosts Cosumnes Oaks on Tuesday.

Join us for CHANGING THE NARRATIVE – SFHS’ 2022 Spring Dance Concert at 7:00 p.m. on April 8 in the SF Theatre.

The concert features works from the SFHS Dance Company, Apprentice Company, Nā Wāhine O ‘Olu Hula, ERA Hip-Hop Club, and the SFHS Show Choir under the Artistic Directorship of Agata Grzelak.

Congratulations to our TWO Valedictorians!

Congratulations are in order for these incredible Troubie women!

For the first time in several years, St. Francis will have TWO valedictorians, with seniors Abigail Connelly and Oge Okoye earning the honor.

We are so incredibly proud of each of these Troubies and can’t wait to celebrate them and the class of 2022 at graduation on May 19th!
