Softball Team

A special nod goes out to SFHS head swimming coach, Brian Nabeta, and his Troubie swimmers, who scored an impressive victory at Carondelet on Wednesday. Not only did it mark a rare opportunity for our athletes to compete outside the Sacramento area, but it was a reunion between Nabeta and a former collegiate teammate, Cougar head coach, Roque Santos.

Apology to the St. Francis Community

This past week, an SF social media post sparked an outpouring of anger, pain and sadness about the way students of color have experienced and continue to experience our campus community. In reading these comments, the many emails, and hearing the stories shared on our first Zoom call, I know that so many of you are suffering — and not just recently — but for a very long time. And to hear that your experiences at SF have contributed to that pain is deeply painful and shameful.

La Befana Visits SFHS

The Befana (Helen Manfredi Pierson ‘74) flew into St. Francis to visit the Italian 1 students and share her story, beginning thousands of years ago and remaining to this day a tradition practiced by Italian children and their families throughout the peninsula. This is her story:
One day, the three Magi left their country bearing special gifts of gold, incense, and myrrh for the new-born Jesus Christ. They were guided by a star across many countries. At every village that they passed, many people ran to meet them and accompany them in their journey.
