Dear Senior Parents,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I know this year is especially important for you and for your daughters on a myriad of levels. All of us are excited to welcome the Class of 2022 and the rest of our Troubies for a more traditional school year.

As we continue to make final preparations to welcome our students back to campus, I want to make you aware of a staffing change that will affect your daughter’s Guidance Counselor assignment for the remainder of the school year. After much discernment, our Guidance Counselor for the Class of 2022, Mrs. Dorie Baker, has accepted a position at a local public school district. Her time at St. Francis has been a blessing, and we will miss her presence and the gifts she brought to our school. We wish Mrs. Baker and her family the best as they make this new transition.

Rest assured, the Class of 2022 will have two highly qualified and experienced individuals assuming the role of guidance counselor. Our amazing College Advisors, Mrs. Debbie Austin and Ms. Naomi Lee, have graciously agreed to work directly with our senior class, as well as continue their college advising duties.  The breakdown for their respective caseload will be the same as it was for their college advising assignments:

Students with last names Abildgaard – Killer may contact:

Mrs. Debbie Austin, College Advisor and Class of 2022 Guidance Counselor. She has worked at St. Francis since 1999! She can be reached at: daustin@stfrancishs.org.

Students with last names Kim – Zak may contact:

Ms. Naomi Lee, College Advisor and Class of 2022 Guidance Counselor. She has worked at St. Francis since 2002! She can be reached at: nlee@stfrancishs.org.

I realize the senior class has experienced some guidance counselor turnover within the past four years, but instead of starting the school year with a new guidance counselor, I thought it would be best to have two trusted, experienced, and familiar faces to support our seniors through this very important year.

I appreciate Mrs. Austin and Ms. Lee taking on this additional responsibility and know your daughters will be in good hands. You will be able to meet them both during Back to School Night on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

I thank you for your continued support and look forward to the upcoming school year.

In the spirit of Pax et Bonum (peace and goodness),

Elias  Mendoza
