SACRMENTO, Calif. – Softball seniors Lauren Washburn and Rhyann O’Mara were both selected to play for the South team in the upcoming 40th edition of the Optimist All-Star game on Wednesday, May 31 at 6:30 p.m. at Capital Christian High School.

Washburn hit a team-best .519 during her senior season over 26 games with 16 runs scored with 28 RBI. She was third overall in the league in hitting, earning Delta League first-team honors. O’Mara hit at a .423 clip for her senior season with 17 RBI.

Both were selected to the River Cats All-City team announced last week.

General admission is $10, seniors (65-plus) $8, students $5 and kids under 12 $3. Capital Christian is located at 9470 Micron Ave., Sacramento.
