St. John the Evangelist Wins St. Francis P.A.L. Title

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Congratulations to St. John the Evangelist for winning the 2017 St. Francis P.A.L. Invitational title 40-29 over St. Mel on Sunday in the championship game.  SJE advanced to the title with wins over St. John Notre Dame and St. Francis.

St. John Notre Dame was third overall after a 37-8 win over St. Ignatius. St. Charles Borremeo won the consolation title with a victory over Holy Spirit. Other participants includes St. Francis, St. Patrick’s and St. Rose.

The 2017 St. Francis Invitational All-Tournament team included Demi Dupavillon (Holy Spirit), Faith Mucheru (St. Charles Borremeo), Carolina Ingenito (St. Francis), Oge Okoye (St. Ignatius), Faith Witteborg and Donnelli Allen (St. John the Evangelist), Daniella Guerrera, Emma Halloran and Lena Quiroz (St. John Notre Dame), Frankie Evers and Elizabeth Rosendahl (St. Mel) and Princess Pascua (St. Patrick Academy).

St. Charles Borromeo was the leading scorer on the day with 17 points. Donnelli Allen scored 18 for SJE and her teammate Faith Witteborg added 14. St. John Notre Dame had both Daniella Guerrera and Emma Halloran scored 13 points.
