Varsity Basketball Wins Non-League Game at Antelope

ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Julia Razo scored 22 points to lead St. Francis to a 68-59 win over Antelope on Saturday.

“We had a lot of contributions from a lot of people,” said Head Coach Vic Pitton. “Two pf the people who really contributed were Logan Kelly, who played a really solid game offensively and defensively, and Jorie (Keitges). She played her best game as a varsity basketball player.”

Kelly had seven points in the game, while Keitges contributed nine points for the second straight game to surpass her total off 11 points over the first 14 games.

“Tonight was big shots (for Jorie) and she had to play a big time player,” said Pitton.

After trailing after the first eight minutes, St. Francis exploded with a 28-point second as Razo scored 10 of her 22 points. Koerwitz contributed two of her six baskets that resulted in 13 points and Nicoos got to the line.

But Fairbrook and Nicolos were both saddled with foul trouble in the second half.

“Having Marlee and Janae sit so much in the second half, we really needed other people to step and they did.”

St. Francis (9-7) went 3-0 on the week and returns back to Delta League play on Tuesday as the Troubadours host Franklin at 7 p.m. The game will be shown online on TroubieTV.
