Basketball will host playoff games this week and spring sports start this weekend. Varsity soccer opens play at the Folsom Challenge Cup, while the JV and Frosh teams play at the preseason tournament in Woodland. Lacrosse takes on Cardinal Newman and San Ramon on the road, while softball scrimmages with Roseville (V) and Oak Ridge (JV). The swimming team will have their Red-Gold Meet on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The track and field team will host team time trials on Thursday, Feb. 25. For a complete look at the athletics schedule, click here.

Spring Permission Slip Deadlines

Permission slips for lacrosse, swimming and softball are due Friday, Feb. 19. Diving, track and field and soccer are due next Friday, Feb. 26. Failure to turn in can can affect eligibility for upcoming contests.

Basketball Wins Delta League Title

 St. Francis finished the regular season with a perfect 14-0 record with a 93-25 win over Grant Tuesday night, capturing the 2016 Delta League title. It is the first league title for St. Francis since 2011 and they enter the playoffs on an 10-game winning streak.

“I am extremely proud of my team,” said Head Coach Vic Pitton. “They have put in a lot of work and sweat equity and they deserve everything they have got so far. They are playing very well and are sharing the ball. They improved tremendously defensively and, when we are in transition, it is a lot of fun to watch.”

St. Francis (23-4) will await the Sac-Joaquin Section Selection show for their playoff seeding and bracket position. Read the complete release here.

Diving (Capital Divers), Lacrosse (Mather Sports Complex), Soccer (Tryouts), Swimming (Jesuit) and Track and Field (Jesuit HS) both practice and compete off campus.
