Costa Rica 2016!
Culture & Language Immersion Trip

Post

During Easter vacation, seven students and two teachers traveled to Costa Rica for a language and culture immersion experience which highlighted the unique flora and fauna of this beautiful Central American country.

They traveled through the cloud forest to the Carribbean coast to explore the rain forest of Tortuguero.  With their naturalist guide, by boat and on hikes, they spotted caymans, turtles, basilisk lizards, spider and howler monkeys and countless tropical birds.   Near the Arenal Volcano students swam in natural hot springs and went  ziplining.  On the Pacific coast in Manuel Antonio National Park they met local wildlife up close and personal including squirrel and white-faced capuchin monkeys, sloths, iguanas, parrots, and scarlet macaws.  Back in San Jose the capital city, students feasted on Costa Rican specialties such as gallo pinto and fried plantains, and danced with members of a folklore dance group.  Watch for Costa Rica 2017!
