Dear Friends of St. Francis Catholic High School,
St. Francis is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ms. Fadia Desmond as our new Assistant Principal. As a graduate of Marymount High School, an all-girls’ Catholic school in Los Angeles, Ms. Desmond shared, “I have experienced firsthand the lifelong gift of a Catholic education. My most formative years leading to adulthood took place at Marymount.” Ms. Desmond’s unique set of skills, talents, and experiences will truly enrich our school community.
Most recently Fadia worked at UC Davis assisting pre-medical students navigate the medical school admissions process. She earned her B.A. from UCLA in English with a special emphasis on Education, and an M.A. from Stanford University. She also holds a Ph.D. in Education from UC Davis.
While Ms. Desmond has been a high school English teacher and English as a Second Language teacher, she has also worked extensively at the college and graduate school levels in the area of student services as an advisor to undergraduates in both an academic and interpersonal capacity. As President of the Sacramento Stanford Association, Ms. Desmond has extensive experience in the collegiate admissions process and excellent ties to the local community.
We are blessed and enthusiastically welcome her to our St. Francis community, and we know you will give her a warm Troubie welcome!
