SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis Athletics department won the 2017-18 Delta League All-Sports title for the first time in the three-year history of the award. The Troubadours won or tied for five league titles during the year and recorded two second-place finishes.

“What an exciting achievement by our Troubies,” said Athletic Director Mark McGreevy.  “The Delta League is arguably the most competitive girls’ sports league in the entire Sac-Joaquin Section.  To be recognized for excellence across the board in this league is a testament to the remarkable commitment, work ethic, and sisterhood of our student-athletes and the special guidance and support they receive from our extraordinary coaches and families.  We couldn’t be prouder.  It truly is great to be an SF Troubadour!”

The Troubies captured team titles in cross country, golf, tennis and volleyball, while sharing the basketball title with Davis. St. Francis, who also finished second in water polo and swimming and diving, tallied 64.5 points to Davis’ 64 to edge the Blue Devils. Pleasant Grove and Elk Grove were tied for third with 42 points.

The award is decided on an overall points system based on league finish (9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1) across the 10 sports with each school dropping their lowest two sport finishes.
