Alumna Zoe Nightingale a Candidate for CIF All-Century Team
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – What do Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Zoe Nightingale have in common? All three are up for #CIF100 Team of the Century.
Zoe Nightingale ‘11, the Sacramento Bee Player of the Year in 2010, is a candidate for the CIF Team of the Century including Olympians Misty May, Holy McPeak, April Ross, Cynthia Barboza, Alix Klienman, Elaine Youngs, Jenny Evans, Kim Oden and Jeannie Reeves. Also among the nominees are Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and USA distance standout Jordan Hasay.
Nightingale was a four-year letterwinner at St. Francis High School in Sacramento, Calif. She was named the Sacramento Bee Player of the Year as a senior and was ranked 19th on PrepVolleyball’s Senior Aces list, earning three Delta River League Most Valuable Player, All-Metro First Team and All-City First Team awards (`08-’10) and a pair of All-CIF First Team honors (`09-’10). She also received All-American accolades from PrepVolleyball, AVCA Under Armour, MaxPreps and ESPN Rise. For her career, she produced 1,236 kills and 1,146 digs in her four years at St. Francis
CIF All-Century team nominations were accepted online during the last school year. All former student-athletes that demonstrated significant athletic contribution in CIF approved high school athletics were eligible to be nominated.
Fall honorees will be announced in November and will also be acknowledged at the respective CIF State and Regional Championships throughout the fall.
