Basketball Drops Finale at Nike TOC in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. – St. Francis lost in overtime 59-56 to Huntington Beach to close their appearance in the Nike Tournament of Champions, dropping to 8-2 on the season.

Lauren Craig scored a game-high 20 points with 15 rebounds, including 16 points in the second half. Junior Kyra Huffman had 11 points, nine boards and five steals

The Troubadours led by 10 points early in the second half 28-18 but the Oilers had a strong second half to close the advantage. They hit four three-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the comeback effort.

Huntington Beach had a chance to win the game in regulation but missed a jumper, giving St. Francis a chance in the final seconds. The Troubadours rebounded and had a chance at the buzzer but the shot by Craig was off the mark. The Troubies scored the first basket in overtime on a layup by Yvonna Molodanof to take a 54-52 but The Oliers out-scored St. Franics 7-4

St. Francis opens Delta League play at home on Jan. 6.
