SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis basketball team earned a No. 12 seed in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Championships, the section office announced Wednesday. The Troubadours will host No. 21 Edison out of Stockton Friday night at 7 p.m. at St. Francis.

“I am pumped and super excited to be playing at home one more time,” said senior guard Abby Dow. “It should be an exciting game and we have a chance to keep playing (with a win).”

The winner of the St. Francis-Edison game will play at No. 5 seed McClatchy Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Edison was 15-9 on the season, including a third-place finish with a 6-4 mark in the Tri-City Athletic League

“It is always a great privilege to get to the playoffs and these young ladies have earned it,” said Pitton. “No matter the opponent, we have to come out and play our game.”

St. Francis (16-11) finished the regular season with a win over Folsom Tuesday night.

“We definitely needed the win coming out of the Clovis West game,” said Dow. “We had to bounce back. It was not the best win but we are going in the right direction now.”

The ticket prices are $8 for adults, $5 for students (K-12) and children five and under are free.

“The Folsom game helped us come together and see what we are capable of,” said senior Gillian Balbierz. “It boosts our momentum.”
