Basketball Program Hands out Honors at Banquet
Four Players Earn DRL Honors

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The St. Francis basketball program held its annual banquet March 24 to recognize the successful seasons of the three teams and hand out the awards for the season.

Junior Susie Rogers was named the Outstanding Offensive Player on the varsity team. She averaged 9.6 points per game, the second-best total on the team, while recording 5.5 rebounds per contest and a team-best 3.2 assists. She scored in double figures in 13 games, including a season-high 21 points in the playoff win over Edison.

Sophomore Lauren Craig was selected the Outstanding Defensive Player. She recorded over 60 blocks on the season, finishing the regular season with three or more blocks in six straight games. She averaged a double-double on the season, recording 11 individual double-double games on the season. She had a career-high 19 boards in a win over Bella Vista on Jan. 8

Seniors Kristen Lau and Amanda Davenport shared the Most Improved Player Award, while Sarah England received the Coaches Award.

Rogers and Craig were both named to the Delta River League First Team, while Abby Dow and Kyra Huffman earned DRL second team honors.

Freshman Julia Razo was the Outstanding Offensive Player on the Junior Varsity squad. She scored a team-best 9.8 points per game on a team that averaged over 54 points per game and had seven players average seven or more points per game.

Emily Ainsley was the Most Improved Player as selected by the coaching staff, scoring 7.8 points per game. Sophomore Yvonna Molodanof and freshman Janae Fairbrook each received the Coaches Award.

On the freshmen team, Reina Deol was selected the Outstanding Offensive Player, scoring 8.2 points per game. Savannah Tijerino-Santos was the Outstanding Defensive Player and Skylar Maccoun was the Most Improved Player. Clare Brennan was the Coaches Award recipient. She added a team-best 8.9 points with her defensive presence in the post.

The varsity team finished 17-12, earning a Sac-Joaquin Section playoff berth and advancing to the second round. The JV team went 21-6 and posted a 9-1 mark against league opponents. They captured the team title at the El Dorado Tournament on Dec. 30. The freshmen unit also went 21-6 on the season and won three team tournament titles.
