News

Congratulations to Cheryl Watson and her two SF Players classes for their performances of Governing Alice and Godspell. Godspell and many monologues and soloist competed in the regional competition held at Folsom’s Three Stages.

Lenaea High School Theatre Festival was held on February 1st at Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom. Cheryl Watson and the SF Players Theatre classes attended and performed at the festival over the weekend. The festival offers workshops and classes along with the opportunity for students to see monologues. Godspell Jr. was performed and received a Gold and the Synergy Awards for the One Act Musical. The Synergy Award was presented to a school that came prepared, organized, and showed respect and courtesy to the Harris Center and Folsom Lake College staff.  Julia Rehwald ‘14 and Delaney Feener ‘14 won Gold for their duo in Romeo and Juliet and Caroline Mixon ‘15 won Silver for her solo song More to the Story from Shrek.

The SF Players spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the annual Lenaea High School Theatre Festival on the Campus of Folsom Lake College and the beautiful Harris Center for the Performing Arts. Over the three days they watched other schools, attended workshops and performed for professional evaluations.

Yesterday we performed our one act Godspell Jr and attended the awards ceremony. We spent over 27 hours at the festival with 58 other high schools from Northern California. I want you to know all of the SF Players represented St. Francis well and I am proud to say

we brought home The Gold award for our One Act, Godspell jr.  Delaney Feener and Julia Rehwald received a Gold for duos (scenes) and Caroline Mixon received a silver for Musical Theatre. We also received the Synergy award for Stage Two. This award goes to a school that came prepared, organized, and showed respect and courtesy to the Harris Center and Folsom Lake College staff. So if you saw a few yawns in class I wanted to let you know why.
