Cook, Gregg Lead Soccer to Win over Christian Brothers

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior Meredith Cook scored a goal in the 16th minute and St. Francis never trailed in posting a 3-1 win over rival Christian Brothers Tuesday afternoon.

Cook scored on an assist by senior Anna Gregg to give the Troubadours the early lead. Gregg added two second half goals with the first giving St. Francis (5-0) a 2-0 lead. The Falcons would cut the deficit to 2-1 but Gregg would score again in the 76th minute to seal the victory.

Gregg now has five goals and four assists on the season in five games.

Senior Allie Carmickle and junior Meredith Kaesar combined for the win in the goal.

St. Francis returns to action in its home opener on Thursday against Rio Americano at 3:30 p.m. The game will be shown online on TroubieTV.
