SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Kelly Kraeger scored 11 points to lead St. Francis to a 52-26 victory over Placer Tuesday night. The Troubadours avenged a season-opening loss to Placer 40-34 and improved to 11-3 on the season.

“Kelly did great,” said Head Coach Ray Poncini.  “She is doing now what we trying to get a lot of the girls to do – drive to the hoop and be strong. She is using an effective pump fake to get the girls up and drive around them. She played with a lot of confidence tonight. She has come a long way.”

St. Francis jumped out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter. Kraeger scored seven of her career-high 11 points in the first quarter.

“We stressed yesterday at practice getting off to a good start,” said Poncini. “We lost to Placer in the season opener and we wanted to come out and send a strong message. We put the press on and the girls were trapping all over the court.”

Nicole Frank led the team with 12 points, while Adrienne Graybill added nine points. Selena Ordorica contributed eight points and Morgan Kaeser scored six in the win.

The Troubies have added a game for Friday afternoon at St Francis against Granite Bay. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
