FOLSOM, Calif. – Senior Lauren LaRocco won her third consecutive Delta River League title to lead the St. Francis team to the team title. The Troubadours placed four runners among the top 10 and six among the top 13 in the race, winning the league title for the third straight season.

“It felt good today and it was really fun,” said LaRocco. “Our top five were taking it a little easy and it was fun to run as a pack. We gave a little extra at the end.”

LaRocco led the field with a time of 18:41 to win her seventh race of the season.

“It is nice to establish ourselves and get to ready to taper for sections,” said LaRocco.

Classmate Madison Rawson was right behind in second in a time of 18:58, while junior Miranda Myers crossed third overall in 19:15. Junior Camille Boudreaux was sixth overall in 19:38. Chase Worthen was the fifth scorer for the Troubadours in 20:11, while Ariel Medina finished in 20:22 for a 13th-place finish overall.

“The girls ran great today,” said assistant coach Rich Willett. “We had some real strong finishes. It is very satisfying to win the league title. It means a lot to the girls. Our eyes are on a bigger prize but it is a stepping stone along the way.”

The Frosh/Soph team also claimed the team title in their race earlier in the morning.

“It means a lot to see everything coming together,” said Rawson. “We are taking everything we have done all season and putting it into the next month.”

The Troubadours will compete at the Sac-Joaquin Subsection meet next weekend at the Calavares County Fairgrounds in Angels Camp, Calif.
