Track Performs Well at Bronco Distance Carnival

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Madison Rawson won the 1600 meters and was a member of the winning distance medley relay team to lead the St. Francis track and field team at the Bronco Distance Carnival Friday night.

Rawson led a strong contingent in the 1600, clocking a 5:12.73 to post the top time of the night. Junior Miranda Myers was fourth overall in 5:30.44, while junior Peyton Bilo was 12th in 5:32.09. Sophomore Chase Worthen was right behind in 5:36.74 and Mallory Shingle clocked a 5:38.65 to place 19th.

Rawson joined Myers, Bilo and Ariane Arndt to win the DMR in 12:40.58, while Ariel Medina, Macee Moreno, Gabrielle Dyer and Sophie Huang were fourth in the event.

Arndt was the top finisher for the Troubadours in the 800 meters, posting a fifth-place finish in 2:31.51. Moreno won her heat and was 12th overall in 2:32.04. Medina finished 26th (2:37.56) and Sophie Noda was 34th (2:46.22).

Worthen was ninth in the 3200, while Maddy Strong finished 21st.
