This Week in Troubie Sports…

As the Fall playoffs continue, winter sports soccer and basketball begin tryouts this week. All student-athletes must have a physical on file before participating on Monday. Cross Country runs in the Sac-Joaquin Sections on Saturday for the chance to go to the state meet. Tennis, Volleyball and Water Polo look to continue deep playoff runs. The first National Letter of Intent signing celebration will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the CLC. For a complete list of Athletic Events, click here.

Basketball and Soccer Tryouts Start Monday, November 7

Varsity and JV Gold soccer will have tryouts at Granite Regional Park from 3:30-5:00 p.m. JV Red soccer tryouts will be on the soccer field on campus from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Starting placements for the JV teams will be forthcoming shortly via email from the coaches. Varsity basketball tryouts will be in the gym from 3:30-5:30 p.m., while JV basketball tryouts will be in the Armory 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Freshmen basketball tryouts will be in the Armory 3:30-5:30 p.m. All student-athletes must have a physical on file prior to tryouts to participate.

Water Polo Advances to Section Quarterfinals

Freshman Kendall Houck scored five times and senior Kayla Wehner added four goals as St. Francis posted a 12-5 win over River City in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Tournament. Read the complete release here.

Volleyball Posts 3-0 Win over Vintage, Advances in Sections

The St. Francis volleyball team advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section quarterfinals with a 3-0 win over Vintage on Tuesday night. The Troubadours advanced by scores of 25-11, 25-7 and 25-20.

Tennis Opens Section Playoffs with 9-0 Win

The St. Francis tennis team opened the Sac-Joaquin Section with a 9-0 win over Vacaville. They will advance to the quarterfinals on Monday, Nov. 7 against the winner of Rocklin and Turlock. Read the complete release here.

Golf Advances to CIF NorCals with Third-Place Masters Finish

The St. Francis golf team qualified for the CIF NorCal Regional Championships with a third-place finish at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters tournament on Monday at the Reserve at Spanos Park. The NorCals will be held at the The Club at Crazy Horse Ranch in Salinas on Monday, November 7. Read the release here.

Westover to Play Lacrosse at USC

St. Francis senior Sarah Westover has committed to play lacrosse at USC and will sign with the Trojans on Nov. 9. Read Sarah’s story here.

Cross Country Finishes Second at Delta League Meet

The St. Francis cross country teams finished second in both the Varsity and Frosh/Soph races at the Delta League Championships on Friday behind several standout performances. Read the complete release here.

JV Volleyball Completes Season 32-1

Chemistry was the magic formula for the St. Francis Junior Varsity volleyball team. It produced 32 wins, two tournament titles, a win over Christian Brothers and, ultimately, a team ready to impact the next level. Read the complete release here.

Frosh Volleyball Finishes 25-1, Perfect in League

Freshman Volleyball Head Coach Lawrence Whang does not judge his teams on wins and losses. The first season in the program is about setting the tone for the future in skill-work, team bonding and practice. But if he did, the young Troubadours had a successful season. Read the complete story here.
