Tennis Starts Second Half with 9-0 Win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Abby Benvenuti posted an unblemished 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles over Angela Emerick as St. Francis posted a 9-0 win over Pleasant Grove on Tuesday. The Troubadours improved to 9-2 overall and 8-0 in league play.

St. Francis swept all six singles positions, losing a total of nine games while taking all 12 sets. Sophomore Myra Anwar won at No. 1, freshman Adithi Benush was a winner at No. 2. Juniors Kiya Jackson, Kyla Jackson and Marisa Fat were also winners for the Troubies.

Seniors Sabrina Voeller and Annie Gianulias combined to win at No. 1 singles. Junior Stephanie Fong and senior Macy Wood paired at No 2 doubles, while junior Cameron Parra and freshman Samantha Sonntag posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3.

St. Francis hosts Davis on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. at Rio del Oro Racquet Club. The St. Francis Booster Club will host a free BBQ for all players, coaches and fans in attendance.
