Tennis Wins at Elk Grove 6-3

ELK GROVE, Calif. – Freshman Kyla Jackson posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles as St. Francis won five of six singles matches to post a 6-3 win over Elk Grove on Wednesday.

St. Francis improved to 9-3 on the season and 7-2 in the Delta League.

Jackson led the charge in singles. Freshman Marisa Fat won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, while Annie Gianulias was victorious at No. 4. Sophomore Abby Benvenuti record a win at No. 5 singles and sophomore Megan Khan lost just a single game in a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 6.

The Troubadours also got a doubles victory at No. 3 as freshman Kate Nueberger and freshman Stephanie Fong won a close match that was decided with a third-set tiebreaker.

The Troubadours return to action on Monday at Sheldon at 3:45 p.m.
