Health & Safety Update

Dear St. Francis Families,

We are a few days away from the start of the 2021-2022 school year, and we can’t wait to welcome our Troubies back to our beautiful campus. St. Francis Catholic High School continues to be proactive in keeping our students safe, our families informed and our campus open as we continue to deal with the fallout of the pandemic and new Delta variant. Our school leadership continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, and we are following the advice and recommendations of the Diocese, California Department of Public Health, and the California Department of Public Health.

SF is moving to Schoology!

We have moved our learning management system from PowerSchool Learning (PSL) to Schoology (owned by PowerSchool).  Schoology is used in over 60,000 schools with 20 million users.  This learning management system is more robust than PSL, and still gives parents the ability to see their child’s classes and grades.  Information about parent Schoology access was sent to you this week.

Also, please have your daughter/s keep her Chromebook charged, and make sure it is in working order and ready for her classes.

Apology to the St. Francis Community

This past week, an SF social media post sparked an outpouring of anger, pain and sadness about the way students of color have experienced and continue to experience our campus community. In reading these comments, the many emails, and hearing the stories shared on our first Zoom call, I know that so many of you are suffering — and not just recently — but for a very long time. And to hear that your experiences at SF have contributed to that pain is deeply painful and shameful.

Virtual Dance Showcase

Haven’t had a chance to watch the Virtual Dance Showcase yet?

For those of you that don’t know about our annual Spring Dance Showcase, it’s a culmination of student choreographed works (usually performed live). Juniors & Seniors work with underclassmen in their respective companies to create original work and this year was no different! The amount of creativity and collaboration that the students had this year was exciting! The video now includes ALL student works. (I had many technical issues!)

Please enjoy!
