Help us Celebrate 80 Years by Becoming an Anniversary Sponsor!

As we celebrate our 80th anniversary this year, we recognize what a truly blessed community we are. Even during these challenging COVID-times, it is critical for our community to stay connected. That’s why we will again kick off the new year with our two great fundraising events, our Crab Feed and Revelry event.

The Sac-Joaquin Section announced on Monday that “Season 1″ sport calendars (Cross Country, Volleyball, Water Polo) will commence as previously published; however, all activities are on hold pending the release of the Return-to-Play Guidelines under review by the California Department of Public Health.  Those guidelines were originally expected to be released on November 16; however, they are still forthcoming from the Governor’s office. Update:  Parent Hours Can Be Earned and Applied to 2021-22

With our environment in so much flux, St. Francis made the decision not to require mandatory parent service requirements for the 2020-21 academic year, even though we knew that we would still have tremendous need for volunteer help (done in adherence to all safety standards) and material donations for our special 80th anniversary events season. We’ve got two great events coming up:  a first-ever, Curbside Crab Feed on January 30, 2021 and our Virtual Revelry Auction on March 6, 2021. We need you!

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

We will be celebrating the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Tuesday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m.

We invite all of our St. Francis families to join us in prayer. We will be streaming (pre-recorded) Mass via our School YouTube page. Broadcast can be found on or the St. Francis Catholic High School YouTube channel.

School Climate Survey

As a part of our ongoing school improvement and accreditation efforts, faculty, staff, and student groups have been working in collaboration towards building a stronger school community. One goal is to foster a more inclusive campus that honors our racial and ethnic diversity. To guide us in our work, we plan to administer a School Climate Survey annually, to gather student insights.  Student responses will be confidential but not anonymous, which allows us to analyze the impact of our efforts over time. Faculty will help administer this survey next week, in B and F blocks.

Return to Campus Survey – Spring 2021

As we prepare for students to return to campus during the week of January 11, 2021, we would like to determine how many students plan to return and how many plan to optionally stay in Distance Learning for the semester.

Principal’s Newsletter 12/04/20

Dear St. Francis Families,

Welcome back, and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break.

It’s hard to believe that it’s now December, and final exams are only a week away!   During this time of the semester, and especially this year, it’s only natural for our Troubies to be nervous and perhaps a little anxious about their upcoming exams. Please encourage your daughter to plan ahead, study in a quiet and dedicated place, avoid digital device distractions, eat and hydrate appropriately, and most importantly, get adequate rest before finals week. Remind her that memorizing or cramming all of the material at once usually doesn’t bring about the best results or learning. Finding balance is key, and students should reward learning with purposeful breaks to recharge.

Also, with finals looming, there may be an uptick in students feeling the need to resort to unwise study methods that do not meet our Academic Honesty standards.  My recommendation is that students use the resources available to them (i.e. teachers, tutors, parents, study guides, peer study sessions, etc.). This is the perfect time to strategize a study plan prior to final exams.

Know that we care about the physical and mental well-being of our students, and we want them to be successful!

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
St. Clare of Assisi, pray for us!

In the spirit of Pax et Bonum (peace and goodness),
