Mondrea Vaden ‘09
Librarian, Mondo Connections, LLC

Education

As part of Class of ‘09, I received the St. Francis Library Award, for having an inspired love of reading, and encouraging others to have the same. After a formative college experience where I got my biology degree and two degrees in Library Science, I found myself back in libraries! In the present day, I am a Librarian at Mondo Connections, a self-employed venture that offers virtual services and support to individuals, small organizations, and libraries. I also run a small digital library to help marginalized people find customized helpful resources!

With my Masters of Library and Information Science degree and Strategic Management of Digital Assets Certificate, I have 4.5+ years of experience in creating and delivering content, assistance, and research that are informed by data. I’ve worked in academic libraries, school libraries, medical libraries and special libraries.

My current area of work is as an Independent Information Professional. It’s something that is becoming more widespread as support to the work larger libraries do. Everyone needs information, but there’s only so much the public library can provide! I look forward to connecting future Troubie librarians with information about an exciting and invigorating career as a Librarian!
