Ash Wednesday Mass
in the Gym
Lent is a season of preparation for Easter glory. It is also a time to embrace new life by turning away from old ways of living; we do this through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. On Ash Wednesday, we begin our communal prayer journey at 10:35am Mass in the Gym; guests are reminded to check in at the Front Office.
Students are invited to fast from habits that take them away from their relationships with God and others through an examen opportunity in Theology class. Their self-determined “fasts” will be anonymously posted on the Chapel windows so we can support each other throughout our Lenten journey.
Finally, our communal almsgiving comes from supporting Catholic Relief Service’s Rice Bowl program and our Sister School in Ghana. There are three different ways to help CRS Rice Bowl:
- Make an online donation to our Team Troubie CRS Rice Bowl page
- Contribute to the Ash Wednesday Offertory Collection
- Students can participate in Dress for Funds on March 21, 2023
Your family can offer our Ghanaian Sister School assistance through participation in a “Penny War.” Dates and rules for this event will be shared next week.
