St. Francis Volleyball Takes Straight Set Victory over El Camino

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Megan Sullivan had nine kills to help the St. Francis volleyball team post a straight set victory over visiting El Camino and remain undefeated at home. The Troubadours won 25-12, 25-20 and 25-20.

“I thought we played pretty well and executed in the first set,” said Head Coach Alynn Wright. “Ali did another good job involving all of the hitters. Our passing was a little off. I think there was a little fatigue in the legs after the Mitty tournament and the match last night.”

The Troubadours improved to 14-3 on the season and 3-0 at home, winning on back-to-back nights after hosting Nevada Union on Tuesday.

Ali Koumelis had 25 assists and seven digs. Senior Chloe Hakim recorded 19 digs, while Anna Baytosh led the team with 12 kills.

“It always feels good to win at home,” said Sullivan, who was second on the team with nine kills in the match. “We could have done a little better but I felt that we stayed at our level.”

The Troubadours will return to the court for the Holy Court matchup against rival Christian Brothers on Thursday, Sept. 26.
