Swimming and Diving hosts the Delta League Championships at Jesuit April 28-29. The diving league meet will be held on April 27. Lacrosse completes the regular season with road games at Granite Bay (April 26) and Casa Roble (April 29). Soccer (JV/V) hosts Sheldon on Monday and travels to Franklin on Wednesday, April 27. Softball has games at Davis (April 27) and at home against Elk Grove (April 29). Sports Physical Night Volunteers Needed

At St. Francis we have had a long standing tradition of hosting Sports Physical Night during the first week in June. During this event, students who want to participate in Athletics on campus can come to campus receive a pre-participation exam by a volunteer physician for a reasonable cost.  We are in need of licensed MDs, ODs Nurses and PAs to assist with providing services associated with a healthy child pre-participation exam on June 1 from 5:45-7:45 p.m.. Your valuable volunteer time will be worth triple hours for physicians and double hours for Nurses (totaling approximately 4-6 hrs per medical volunteer).

We will also need non-clinical volunteers to help with registration, parking and other support positions. Volunteers would be receiving regular parent hours arriving at 5:15 to help with set up and finishing approximately 7:30 p.m. Please check with your employer to make sure your medical liability insurance extends to cover for this event. St. Francis insurance does not extend to physicians. Most employers will allow “moonlighting” for events such as this but there may be a form to complete.

Play It Forward

Do you have old sports equipment just gathering dust? Don’t know what to do with it? Well play it forward!

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be collecting used sports equipment to donate to St. Philomene’s school in Sacramento until APril 29. So bring in any used (but still usable!) sports equipment including:  playground balls, athletic shoes (cleats, running shoes, spikes, etc.), or any specialized sports equipment! Bins will be in CLC all week so drop off anything you have during that time!
